Choices of Glass
Like every other reproduction part available in the vintage market, you can buy inferior products from overseas in places like China and Taiwan or you can spend a little more and buy OE reproduction parts that fit and look original and are made by people who actually drove these cars.
We are experts at finding the best glass available for your vintage beauty.
TIP: What most people don't know is that original windshields, back windows, (and side glass until the 60's), were 6mm or a 1/4" thick while a lot of cheaper knock off glass is 4 or 5mm thick which do not fit the gasket properly in older models. This causes leaks and in newer models the thin windshield doesn't sit tight to the mouldings leaving a gap between the glass and moulding.
Next car show you're at have a look at a few glass installs and you will see what I mean, either the mouldings don't fit tight to the glass or there is a gap around the rubber!
