The MTO has no mercy on trucks with cracked windshields so do yourself a favour and get it changed before you get pulled over.

Fact:The windshield is the cheapest repair on the truck!

Highway Tractors have come a long way from the old rubber gasket installed windshield. Now truck windshields are urethane installed encapsulated one and two piece windows, and the trucks are fully computerized, which makes it very important to have the windshield sealed properly or you will have more problems than getting your paperwork wet.

Often shops don't install the Peterbilt windshields with the proper sealer because it is more difficult especially if the truck has a drop visor. The results of this are seen in almost every truck repair shop as a rotted out fuse panel as the water on the driver's side drips right on it causing a costly repair.

Tractors such as this Columbia have windshields that are urethane installed which makes it important for the installation to be done in the right conditions and for the truck to sit for the proper amount of time to ensure a proper seal.
